Thornhaugh Street
You may not have heard of this weeks location, but you'll probably either know what's there or if not then you will have seen an example of this Architects work before. Thornhaugh Street's main inhabitant is SOAS – the School of Oriental and African Studies. Founded in 1916 as the School of Oriental Studies was founded primarily to train British staff for posts overseas. In 1938 Africa was added to the schools name and it's remit changed.

The most startling part of the architecture, in my humble opinion, is the library. Built in 1973 it was designed by Sir Denys Lasdun of the National Theatre fame. It's a startling building which still looks modern today.

It's a good mix of architecture and people then this week.
